News and Events

The original lino print, Moon Dance was successfully exhibited at the the Art Gallery of Hamilton in a 2010 SCA group show.  We are happy to say it has found a new home, one I hope to visit from time to time.

My watercolour painting Weekday Blur has been selected as part of the prestigious 85th Open Water Exhibition of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC).  The 38 works selected from hundreds across the country and the world are on exhibition at the John B. Aird Gallery at 900 Bay Street in Toronto until November 26th, 2010.  The show is about the medium of watercolour and shows the range and talent of many watercolourists in the world...it is certainly worth the trip!!

One of my watercolour landscapes has been selected for the Bruce Trail calendar in 2008, 2009 and 2010.  My images are not part of the  2011 edition but believe in the goals of the Conservation Society and the need to raise money for the preservation and upkeep of the Bruce Trail...I urge you to contact them directly if you are interested in purchasing a calendar for the upcoming year.

One of my watercolour works has been donated to the Book Lovers Ball in Toronto in 2009 and this year I have donated a work to the new CAMH project in Toronto for their silent auction fundraiser.

Many of you have received the account of our recent painting trip to France and Italy which includes some interesting historical facts about Lyon and about the Sibillini mountains of central Italy.  We will keep you updated as we move forward and embark on further adventures. Shortly if all goes well we hope to post that blog on the website with a short movie of the tranquil yet majestic view from the old mountain range where we painted plein air.

Some of you may know Patrick Donahue, noted blogger, writer, artist and reviewer who authors the Dillettantes Diary.  He scours the movie, play and art scenes to bring his audience honest and well-written accounts of show highlights and his perspective on the events in and around Toronto.  We are particularly pleased to announce that we have been mentioned in his October 30th, 2010 blog entry as part of the CSPWC 85th Open Water Exhibition in Toronto.  you can visit Mr. Donahue’s site at the following address.  We would recoomend his site to anyone who wants to keep in the know about art and culture in Toronto.  The site is found at http://www.dilettantesdiary.com/index.html
